How AutoPartLens evaluates compatibility and cost

Compatibility confidence

Confirmed by source is used only when an authorized marketplace or catalogue supplies meaningful compatibility evidence for the applicable vehicle configuration. A title containing the year, make, and model is not enough.

• Confirmed by source: meaningful source evidence applies to the selected configuration.
• Possible fit — verify: some evidence exists, but an engine, trim, position, production split, or other qualifier remains unresolved.
• Compatibility not confirmed: the listing may be relevant, but the source does not prove fitment.
• Incompatible: a known conflict exists; these items are hidden from normal results.

Repair scope and product identity

AutoPartLens normalizes front or rear position, single items versus pairs, axle sets, condition, included components, and reliable brand or manufacturer part numbers. A single rotor is not compared as the same purchase as a rotor pair, and front parts are not treated as rear parts.

When package quantity cannot be established, no repair-total claim is made. The listing is marked Quantity not confirmed.

Known price and unknown costs

Known subtotal means the item price plus shipping only when both values are supplied. Taxes, duties, brokerage, exchange rates, core charges, and other checkout costs remain separate or unknown unless the retailer provides them. AutoPartLens does not call an incomplete amount the final delivered price.

Savings are shown only between repair-equivalent offers with enough reliable cost data. Commission is not a ranking signal.

Sources, freshness, and failed checks

Vehicle identity starts with public NHTSA vPIC data and curated passenger-vehicle fallbacks. Seller listings come from authorized APIs or approved links. Each result displays the actual successful-check time. A failed refresh does not receive a new timestamp and never borrows results from another vehicle.

Editorial policy and corrections

Vehicle-specific pages are indexed only when they contain source-backed guidance with independent value. Thin, temporary, incomplete, and filter-only pages are noindexed and excluded from the sitemap. AutoPartLens does not claim mechanic or engineer review unless a named qualified reviewer has actually completed it.

Report a questionable fitment, price label, translation, or broken link through the contact page. Corrections are reviewed against the source, updated without hiding the limitation, and reflected in the page review date when the change is meaningful.
